We were in Baltimore for Nduku’s bodybuilding competition, and while she was at the venue getting registered, my brother and I headed down to the Inner Harbor for a visit to the National Aquarium.
USS Constellation is a sloop-of-war, the last sail-only warship designed and built by the United States Navy. She was built in 1854, using a small amount of material salvaged from the frigate USS Constellation, which had been disassembled the year before. Despite being a single-gundeck “sloop,” she is actually larger than her original frigate build, and more powerfully armed with fewer but much more potent shell-firing guns.
Funny how I’ve been here several times and never realized they had a dolphin show. I’m not big on these types of shows, having watched too many documentaries of how the animals are “trained,” but I figured why not while Najwa is too young to understand what it takes to tame a wild animal to get it to do the tricks on demand as these dolphins did. To her delight.
